Diverse Abilities is the only charity that supports both children and adults with profound physical and learning disabilities, and their families, in Dorset. We cannot change people's disabilities but we can help them live their lives to the full.

Every 20 minutes, someone in the UK is diagnosed with blood cancer. For many, the best or only possible treatment option is a blood stem cell transplant. DKMS provides patients with a second chance at life, working closely with their families from diagnosis to transplant and beyond. The donor journey begins with a swab of the cheek that takes less than two minutes and can be the action that leads to a lifesaving transplant.

We are dedicated to helping disabled, sick and disadvantaged young people and children (from 0-25) to transform their lives. Under our ABLE banner, our priority is to make a difference through targeted grant support, helping local and regional community groups and charities across the UK and Europe to deliver projects which provide access to opportunities and improve wellbeing. Across our grant making processes, we prefer to fund projects which provide and facilitate access to education; provide tools and opportunities through equipment, facilities and training; and relieve suffering, improve treatment, care and wellbeing.

We are an Animal rescue and pet food bank. We rescue, rehabilitate and rehome dogs, and occasionally other animals. We are based in the North of England and Scotland. We rehomed 125 in 2024 and in 2025, we expect to rehome our 1000th animal since we were founded 10 years ago.

We want to see all dogs living full, safe and happy lives. And thanks to you, we can be there to offer a helping hand when pups and their owners need us most. When a dog is in distress, we care for them. When a dog needs a home, we find them a loving family. When an owner needs a helping hand (or paw), or they just can't cope, we're ready to step in.

The life of a street dog in Sri Lanka isn’t always easy. On the hunt for their next meal, at risk of disease, they can spend their entire lives without any veterinary care, shelter, or positive human contact. An unsterilised dog can have puppies populations can multiply. And when more dogs are than guardians, even easy-to-treat conditions can spiral out of control. Thanks to you, your love and unwavering support, we’re on the ground, responding to animals in need and paving the way for a Sri Lanka free of animal suffering.

Doing it for Dan was set up in memory of 11 year old Daniel Climance who sadly lost his life in a road traffic accident in 2015. Daniel loved all kinds of sport and in his memory his parents wanted to help other children achieve their sporting dreams. At Doing it for Dan we are passionate about supporting young people to enjoy the benefits that come from being active and achieve their sporting goals. We provide grants to young people and organisations for sports equipment, kit and club memberships giving greater opportunities for children to participate in sporting activities.

We found at Dollys Day that people with Alzheimer's lose their freedom, their ability to just be able to get up and go out, something a lot of people take for granted. We provide a day where you can meet new friends who you can relate to, share thoughts with, create memories, laugh, and have something to look forward to each week. Dollys Day is a place of peace, relaxation, fun, and happiness, where we make every person feel free and independant.

Dorothy House Hospice Care provides compassionate care, supporting people with life-limiting illness to live well and die well. Every day Dorothy House Hospice Care supports around 850 families providing a range of patient services including dedicated end of life and respite care. All services are provided free of charge.

Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance is a registered charity, established to provide relief from sickness and injury for the people of Dorset and Somerset, by the provision of an air ambulance service, with an air and road-delivered critical care capability. We receive no direct funding from the Government or the National Lottery and rely on the generosity of the public for support. Our operational costs are over £4 million a year and the approximate cost per mission is £3,000. Since our launch in 2000 we have flown thousands of missions. We are tasked as part of the normal ‘999’ emergency process by a dedicated Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) desk located at Ambulance Control (paid for by the South West Air Ambulance Charities) and can attend up to eight or nine incidents in a single day. Our airbase is situated at Henstridge Airfield on the Dorset/Somerset border. From there, we can be at any point in the two counties in less than 20 minutes. More importantly, the helicopter can, if required, then take a patient to the nearest Major Trauma Centre in the South West within a further 20 minutes.

Dorset County Hospital Charity exists to enhance care for patients at Dorset County Hospital. Working with our amazing staff, the local community, corporate partners, volunteers and supporters we raise money to fund those important extras, above and beyond the NHS budget, which make our care for patients better.

Pioneering mental health charity Dorset Mind educates, challenges stigma and inequality, and promotes recovery by empowering individuals to develop resilience. Dorset Mind runs support groups and an accredited one-to-one befriending service that helps people regain confidence and social skills. The charity also provides mental health programmes for schools called Dorset Mind Your Head that supports young people, parents and teachers. Dorset Mind’s game-changing workplace training programme, Dorset Mind Works, helps employers support employees, shape culture and benefit profitability.

We are a drug and alcohol recovery charity working in the East Midlands.

Dougie Mac provides all hospice services free of charge to over 3,500 patients with life-limiting illnesses each year in Stoke-on-Trent, North Staffordshire and the surrounding villages, also offering supportive care to their families and carers. We help adults living with cancer and non-cancer life-limiting illnesses such as advanced heart failure, Dementia, motor neurone disease and incurable lung diseases.

As the only hospice of its kind in Hull and East Yorkshire, we care for thousands of adults each year that are living with a terminal illness, whether that be Cancer, Motor Neurones Disease or many other incurable illnesses. Whilst we understand their illness is no longer curable, we focus on a patient’s quality of life and aim to enrich the positives such as their relationships with family and friends. At Dove House, we provide complete medical care for 24 hours a day and 365 days a year at no cost. We ensure that we go the extra mile for both the patient and their family through our Family Support team, Therapy team and Catering staff to ensure that their stay with us is as peaceful and comfortable as possible.

Since 1970, we have grown from being a local parent support group into a national charity with over 20,000 members, a national office in Teddington, Middlesex and an office in Northern Ireland. Despite this, the organisation is run by a total staff of 36 (many of them part time). We also work closely with over 130 local support groups throughout the UK.

Dublin Simon Community works to prevent and address homelessness in Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow. We provide services at all stages of homelessness and enable people to move to a place they can call home. At Simon, we listen to people who turn to us for help and do everything we can to support them to move out of homelessness into independent living. We strive to empower people to access, secure and retain a home of their own by reducing the reliance on short-term emergency accommodation and providing permanent supported housing for people to sustain a home in their local community. Moving people into supported housing produces life-enhancing and life-saving results and is more cost-effective in the long run. Dublin Simon are focused on providing supportive services at all stages of homelessness and we are focused on providing supportive alternatives to people living in despair, enabling them to rebuild their lives and empower them to secure a safe home of their own. Some of our services include a nightly soup run (365 days a year, run by volunteers), Emergency Shelter, Supported Housing, Transitional Housing, Alcohol & Detox Services, After Care, Tenancy Sustainment, Training & Employment and social club.

Saving species from extinction is exactly what Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust has been doing for over fifty years. Founded by the famous author and naturalist, Gerald Durrell, we develop pioneering conservation techniques and train conservationists around the world. Our field programme manages over 40 projects in 15 countries and we know that our efforts get results. Without our intervention it is almost certain that a number of species would have gone extinct. With your help we can save even more threatened species in the most threatened places.

Dystonia UK is the only UK national charity dedicated to helping people living with dystonia. We were established in 1983 as The Dystonia Society, by a small group of people living with dystonia and in 2019 we rebranded to become Dystonia UK to better reflect our growing community. As we have evolved as a charity, we have looked at new ways of reaching out to our members and supporters, from webinars and surveys to podcasts and magazines. Through our 'Reach Out, Reach All' campaign we want to reach the whole of the dystonia community. Never forgetting our founders’ aim to support all people living with dystonia, being a patient led organisation is still at the heart of our ambitions today.

EACH care for children and young people with life-threatening conditions, and our family-centred approach includes specialist nursing care, symptom management nursing, short breaks, well-being activities, therapies, care at end of life, bereavement support, counselling and volunteer services in the home; all meeting the individual needs of the child, young person and whole family. Only around 15% of their income comes from Government funding and so they rely heavily on fundraising such as this. A donation of £13 could pay one of their amazing Care Assistants for 1 hour, providing essential care to families.

We are a life saving emergency service providing a 365-day-a-year service across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk. the charity receives no governmenet funding and so are entirely dependent on fundraiasing and donations. Because our crews can get to patients fast and provide advanced medical attention we can be the difference between complete recovery and long-term injury, life and death.
