Improving the lives of people with heart conditions in Sussex

We are a unique Charity providing 'Nursing Care at Home' for local children who have a life-limiting or life-threatening illness. Based in the Chichester area of West Sussex, The Sussex Snowdrop Trust provides: Children's Community Nurses who administer medication and perform various procedures when the Snowdrop child is at home. They give medical advice, teach parents how to manage their child's medicines and treatments, listen to problems and liaise with other Health Professionals. Health Care Assistants support a family by either taking siblings or the Snowdrop child out or playing with them in their own home. This allows a parent some respite or quality time with another child and is a way for children to enjoy a different environment or try some new creative play. Emotional support which is met by the Snowdrop Counsellors. The Counsellors help by befriending and supporting a family throughout their child's illness should it be needed. They also provide bereavement support. Financial help for families coping with the day-to-day problems of caring for a very sick child The charity helps in any way that can relieve parents of the extra financial problems that occur when a child has a life threatening or terminal illness e.g. household equipment and bills, travelling expenses to hospital and so much more.

Our team seeks to save lives and improve outcomes for survivors of sepsis by instigating political change, educating healthcare professionals, raising public awareness and providing support for those affected by this devastating condition. Our critical expertise is based on the charity’s grassroots origins – our doctors and nurses have front line, first-hand experience of the sepsis problem; their passion is born of a uniquely comprehensive understanding of what needs to be done. The urgent need to improve sepsis care in the UK drives our team forward as we continue to work in hospitals whilst giving their time to advance the sepsis agenda.

The Warrior Programme runs three day training and motivation courses with 12 month structured support and signposting for Veterans, Serving Personnel, their Family Members and Carers of Veterans.
